2007 + 10 Minutes

Here in the UK it is 2007 plus 10 minutes.

I've just logged off from Second Life (cue jokes about having no first life) where I had a brief New Year fly around. I was only in there a few minutes - honest.

The first time I've spent New Year in a virtual environment. Unlike my teenage years when it was spent in a rather jolly state, or later surrounded by drugged up goths, or the odd year surrounded by even more exotic characters. Good job they didn't have digital cameras or camcorders back then. Things were transient and probably better for it in some ways. You only had somebody's word for it - it being anything suitably embarrassing - not a blog entry and high quality image the next day.

The neighbours are firing off fireworks which I'm worried will wake the kids.

I'm guessing the really big booms are the cheap Chinese rockets one reads about.

Whatever - they are loud, as are the screams of my neighbours.

Good for them - just don't wake the kids!

If 2006 wasn't the best of years for you then welcome to 2007. Of course if you follow a different calendar then all I can say is Good Evening (or Good Morning - depends where you are and when you read this entry)!

Regards from, Phil
